Script Breakdown and Estimate - SAMPLE

This is a breakdown of a script that I did for a producer, who later used another armorer. As you may see, the firearms that were recommended would have given the film a great deal of realism and made the action scenes very dynamic. The total budget for this movie was over $2 million, yet the producer did not want to pay Exotic Arms $12,225 for almost three weeks' worth of work (armorers' salaries), all gun rentals, all blanks and all special effects, including squibs. The producer chose to use his friend, a prop master. The prop master supplied a revolver, a pistol, dummy guns and a scoped handgun in place of the high-tech G-36 assault rifles, handguns, machine guns and suppressed take-down sniper rifle that I was going to supply. I can assure you, the action scenes were dull. When filming an action movie, people expect to see a lot of special effects and guns. Remember, there are over 80 million gun owners in the U.S. Just because you may not be familiar with or care for firearms, don't assume your audience feels the same way.

You get what you pay for.
